What a fabulous few terms we have had so far. Where do we start?
Now we are on our last week of term we would love for you to join us as we look back on these past two terms.
We have welcomed new students into the AJDC family. We are ready to welcome our brand new Dinky company team and now have three separate competition teams.
We hope you have had as much fun as we have these past few terms. It is always wonderful to see how hard everyone has been working in classes and it has been so lovely to see this showcased at different moments over the last few months.
Back in October we produced both our mini and junior presentations, which were both absolutely amazing. All the children shone on stage and it was lovely to see so many happy faces. We couldn't be prouder of everyone who took part in the presentations and cannot wait until our annual show this summer.
Our Mini and Junior company teams competed at Ultimate victory dance championships, and had such an amazing weekend of competing!
The children were all fantastic performers and came home with smiles on their faces!

We hope that everyone enjoys the last week of term (Christmas week), we cannot wait to see you all back to classes in January, but for now, we wish you all a very merry Christmas!
I would like to start this newsletter by saying a huge WELL DONE to not only our present students but those that have recently joined us! Everyone has been working so hard this term.
If I tried to count the number of new skills achieved, new friends made and the amount of smiles I see every week I would need infinite amounts of hands to count on!
I am so unbelievably proud of everyone. Our juniors provide support to our minis and close bonds have been formed, which I love to see.
Our Mini and Junior company teams are busy preparing for their first ever dance competition! We are so excited to keep everyone updated. Wishing them the best of luck!
As you all know, we started Tap Dance, the class is super up beat and all of the children are LOVING it!
There are still spaces if you wish to join in; Every Saturday 2-3pm at Bearsted Primary Academy.
If your child attends tap and you need to purchase uniform;
The tap uniform is held at Baillando dancewear in Maidstone town.
They are to wear the specific Black rushed leotard paired with black footless tights, black tap socks and black tap shoes.
We are offering two workshops this half term, in both styles Acro and Dance and Musical Theatre.
Our Acro workshop is on Tuesday 15th February 9-12
Our Dance and Musical theatre workshop is On Thursday 17th February 10-1
If you would like to provide your child with a snack, they will be offered a 15-minute break half way through the workshop to have their snack. They will be having regular drink breaks.
Please ensure your child is wearing appropriate clothing.
Myself and the team are working on securing a date for our annual show! All Children will have the opportunity to perform at out show. More details will be coming as soon as we have secured a venue and a date. How Exciting!
Now that restrictions are beginning to lift, we will be introducing termly “show and tell”. This will occur once a term, parents will be invited to come into the last 15 minutes of the class to see what their child has been getting up to in class!
Another email will be coming soon regarding the dates of these show and tell sessions.
I am so excited for you all to see the progression in your child since they have started with AJDC. ALL children continue to blow myself and the team away every single week.
I would also like parents to see all of the special bonds that have been created within all classes.

Jess would like to congratulate Riva Wilson this term for her dedication inside and outside of both dance and acrobatic lessons. Brilliant enthusiasm and work ethic!
Izzy Would like to congratulate Sienna Butler this term, for learning all of her lines quickly and working as a team leader in musical theatre.
I would like to say a huge congratulations to Lyla Parker, for gaining confidence, enthusiasm and being a joy to teach. Lyla has caught my eye this term as not only one of the smallest people but one of the most hard-working little girls!

Where do I start?! We have had so many exciting things happen this term.
Starting with a huge well done to ALL students for their participation in our annual presentation day! You were all enthusiastic and smiling so much! I could not be prouder of you all.
All Parents were very supportive of all children which I love to see at any event; especially our presentation.
All children expressed nerves leading up to the event but all performed and danced their hearts out. WELL, DONE EVERYONE!
I would like to mention a well done to our Mini and Junior Company members who partook in Special filming in London!
I’m so proud of you all for dancing in front of not only so many people and cameras but for being so polite and talkative to producers!
As you would have all seen in our previous email, we have adapted our timetable slightly and have added a tap dance lesson to our Saturday! If you would like your child to trial this lesson, please PM me.
Please make sure you are fully aware of any timetable changes so you turn up at the correct time.

You were all so brave and so welcoming to the public. You were all very respectful and danced and sung beautifully for them.
We raised a big fraction of the “ACROPAD AirTrack money”, so a BIG congratulations.
Myself and the team are still noticing children coming to lessons with their hair down and jewellery still in.
Please ensure this does not continue, this is for your child’s safety.
We have £500 to go, until we have raised the full amount for the ACROPAD AirTrack!
This AirTrack will benefit more than 60% of our classes and all children will be able to have a go on it once we purchase it.

I would like to say a huge well done to ALL students for all of their hard work this term, I am so proud of each and every one of them. I hope all of the children are looking forward to the presentation as much as we are!
The classes have been full of fun and smiles this term, even with the stress of the upcoming presentation. All of the children have created such a brilliant atmosphere, helping one and other and enjoying themselves.

Any classes can use the cropped sweatshirts and onesies!
Please ensure children are in correct uniform for all classes! This includes hair being tied up and ALL jewellery being taken off/out.
Our presentation dress rehearsal is on Saturday 23rd October 10-3pm.
I understand a lot of parents are concerned about the length of the dress rehearsal. I can assure you that if we notice children becoming distressed or tired, we will call you to come and collect them.
Please make sure children are in full uniform and bring a packed lunch with them.
Company girls should bring all costumes with them.
Our presentation is Saturday 30th October 3-7pm.
We do encourage everyone to purchase their tickets ASAP! We do not want to be giving them out on the day.
The presentation includes dances from every class, awards for all pupils and a massive raffle!

This past term we welcomed back both of our ballet classes and our boy’s classes at the early bird.
We are so happy to be back and couldn’t do it without the continued support from every single one of you! We have loved seeing these classes grow and enjoyed seeing all of the children coming in with a smile on their face.
I’m so happy to see so many students in uniform in classes! They all look beautiful and you can see their confidence grow whist wearing it.
Just a kind reminder to those who haven’t yet purchased their uniform. Uniform is compulsory for all classes; I do allow a settling in period without uniform whilst children trial the class to make sure they like it before purchasing. However, after a term I do like to see students arriving in the correct uniform (there is a uniform list with the specific class uniform on my Facebook page and the Instagram).

Keep your eyes peeled for a very exciting email!!! We are currently securing a date for our annual presentation night, which will be to showcase what the students have learnt whilst receiving awards. Every child comes home with an award.
We are also sending an email out regarding our summer timetable and workshops.
I would like to say a huge congratulations to all students at AJDC, you have all worked extremely hard and have all improved immensely.
Throughout lockdown both Jessica Bearman and Savannah Higgins took part in an online dance competition! Savannah came second overall and Jessica received a special award. I am so very proud and cannot wait for live competitions.
I also would like to say a special congratulations to Aeva and Scarlett for attending the junior Acro class to push themselves even further! Well-done to you both.
Our teacher Jess would like to say a huge well-done to Sienna Hampshire, who has been working extremely hard and has recently been invited to our competition group and has become a very mature dancer at the young age of 5.
Our teacher James would like to say a huge well-done to Jenson Cope, who is always very focused in lessons and is very determined.
I would like to give a huge well-done to Faye Watkins for working really hard in junior dance and focusing on her technique immensely.
